Rowan www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=206319930I had decided to purchase the empty building that Lucas and I had walked by a couple weeks earlier. I decided that I wanted to make it into a dog rescue center. There were stray dogs in New York and just not enough places to bring them. Lucas was supposed to meet me there to help out with a bit of painting. He was also supposed to have some news about a job, but I also had some nerve-wracking news of my own. |

After meeting with a few people at the office, I ran home to change into painting clothes. I walked into the empty building right on time. "Hey, this place is huge. It's going to be great." I said, giving her a kiss.

"Good, I think. They think there's going to a guy relocating soon. If he does, then they would offer me the job. It's mostly tracking and computer stuff, but I'm pretty good at that. It would be different but I think I'd like it." I said. I looked over at her with a smile. "You look pretty By the way." I said. My energy and mood were up because the meeting went so well. I dipped the roller in paint and started on the wall.

I smiled. "Thanks." i said. "I'm really glad things went well. I think you'll be happier." i said. We continue to paint for about an hour but I had to get it off my chest. I set my paint brush down and looked at Lucas. "Lucas... I need to talk to you about something." I said.

I took a deep breath and bit my lip. "Lucas. I'm late.." I said quietly, nervously.

I registered it for a second and my eyes widened. "You're pregnant..?" My face turned into a grin. "I can't believe it! This is amazing." I grinned, giving her a tight hug. I fought back the tears. "You need to get out of here. I can't imagine the paint fumes are good for you." I said instantly, getting her out.

"Alright then, let's get you a test." I said. I walked to the convenience store next door and found the pregnancy tests. Not sure what kind to get, I got them all. A minute later, I was back out to Rowan. "Alright got the tests. Let's do this." I said.

"Let's go home. I'll come finish this later." I said. I really didn't want her in the paint fumes. We headed back to the apartment. "I'll just wait here." I said, sitting on the couch.
