After saying goodnight, I took her advice and decided to take some time to myself. I grabbed a beer out of the fridge and watched TV for a while before going into the bedroom and dozing off next to her.

I was sleeping soundly when a searing pain, like being stabbed woke me up. I cried out and flipped on the light on the nightstand. I gasped at the blood that was around me. "Lucas!?" I cried, shaking him awake. "Lucas Help!"

I woke up when I was being shaken. "What's going on?" I asked, my eyes adjusting to the light. She didn't need to answer- the blood on the sheets told me everything. "Oh, Rowan..." I whispered. Quickly, I called her dad and explained that he had to come over to watch Iris right now. Thankfully, he was down within a few minutes. Gently I picked up Rowan and carried her to the car. "Shhh... I know it hurts but it's gong to be ok." I said softly, setting her in the car and buckling her up. I got in on the other side and quickly wiped my tears away as I drove.

I reached over and held her hand, but drove the rest of the way in silence. After what felt like forever, we got to the ER. I pulled up and carried her in. Right away a nurse rushed over to me. "She's having a miscarriage." I explained to her softly. Just saying it made tears come to my eyes. The nurse nodded and showed me to a bed. Gently, I laid Ro down and the nurse quickly put an IV in her, giving what I guess would be pain killers.

I grabbed Lucas's hand and squeezed hard from the pain. "Lucas I'm sorry." I cried, tears pouring down my face.
