Rowan had something going on tonight, so I agreed to come over and watch Iris. I have to admit, I was kind of nervous. Sure, I had taken care of Coles daughter before, but never this young. This was my own kid, and I didn't want to mess up and have Rowan not trust me. Plus, all I wanted was for Iris to be happy. After taking the subway to the building, I went up to her apartment. The door was unlocked so I came in, knowing she was probably busy getting ready. "I'm here." I called out, stepping in.

"I'm going by myself." I said. I led him into the kitchen and picked up a piece of paper. "Everything you need to know should be on here. She's sleeping now but she'll probably wake up in a little bit. There's a few bottles made in the fridge you just have to hear them up." I told him.

I nodded. "Alright. Text me if you have any questions that the paper doesn't answer. And... call if there's an emergency." I said. I looked at the time. "I better go." I said.

I nodded. "Have fun." I said. After she left, I just sat in the rocking chair and watched Iris as she slept. After about 15 minutes, she woke up with whimpers that quickly became screams. She squirmed as I picked her up but I was able to tell that she didn't have a dirty diaper. Quickly I warmed up a bottle and she quieted. For about an hour we just sat, but then she started crying again. I tried to stop her from crying by burping her, but she ended up spitting up all over my shirt so I took it off. Finally after rocking her for a long time, she fell asleep again. whenever I put her down, she started crying so I just held her and closed my eyes. I was exhausted, but happy.

The party was a long night but it was nice to get out. I was also really eager to get home and be back with Iris. I'd never been away from her for so long. I quietly unlocked my door and stepped inside. There was Lucas sitting on the couch, shirtless... with Iris. I couldn't help but stare.

I opened my eyes to see Rowan standing there. I smiled softly. "Hey. She's sleeping." I whispered, even though it was obvious.
