I let out a long breath, knowing she wasn't going to give up. Secretly I was happy, but still worried about her. "How about we try it for a week, and if you're miserable, we can stop with no hard feelings. But if you're happy, then I guess I was wrong and it will work." I said.

At this point Iris had fallen back to sleep on my chest. I gently laid her in the middle of the bed so she wouldn't go anywhere and stood up. "Come here." I whispered to Lucas, gently pulling him closer. "How about we stop with all this stupid whining about how you're no good for me and instead you just kiss me.." I stepped closer. "I've been dying to kiss you since you walked back through that door a few days ago." I whispered, finally closing the space between us and kissing him.

"I did too." I whispered kissing him again. I started to hear Iris start to whimper and pulled back. "She probably needs to be burped." I said softly going to pick her up.

"I'll do it. I'm an expert now." I teased lightly, gently taking her. "You go back to bed." I went back into the nursery and got a rag and started burping her.

I smiled softly. "Thank you." I said quietly and laying back down. Within minutes I was back asleep.

I gently burped her then laid her down. Instead of going to sleep, I sat in the chair and watched her. Early in the morning I woke up feeling stiff. I stretched and went to the kitchen to make breakfast.

I woke up, finally feeling somewhat rested, after not having to wake up multiple times at night. "Good morning." I said softly to Lucas. "What are you making?" I asked.
