I let Lucas walk ahead a bit. "When did he come back?" Marsha asked. "Yesterday.. look he's not a bad person." I said. "No that's right he had to leave." She said. I sighed.

I walked with Iris for a while longer until Marshas son Andy ran to a park. I found a bench and sat down, putting Iris' stroller next to me.

"I know but you can't." I apologized. "their opinion doesn't really matter, I guess." I said with a shrug. A guy came around selling hot cocoa, so I bought one for me, one for Rowan, and a third for Marsha. Little Andy came over begging for some, and Marsha agreed so I gave him a cup carefully. He grabbed it for a second, but then dropped his cup and spilled it all over my pant leg. Marsha looked horrified. "Oh my goodness are you ok?" She asked. That probably should have burned, but I guess that was the first good time I had a fake leg instead of a real one. "It was an accident, im fine." I said, wiping it up with a napkin.

I looked wide eyed at Lucas. "Are you sure you're alright?" I asked. I knew that he was good at handling pain but that was a lot of hot liquid.

"Yeah. I'm fine." I assured her. I poured half of my hot chocolate into the now empty cup for Andy. He seemed really sad that he spilled on me. I just smiled and gave him the cup. "Don't worry, buddy. It happens to everyone." I said.

I smiled softly at his sweet nature, but that's when Iris started to cry. "Okay sweetie. I'm here. Are you getting cold?" I asked, picking her up and holding her to me.

"No. I got it. I think she's starting to get cold and hungry." I said. I stood up. "I think we're going to head out so I can feed her and get her warmed up." I told Marsha.

I gently bounced Iris in my arms while Lucas pushed the empty stroller. "Shh.. We'll be home soon." I whispered.
