I nodded and headed to the door, before opening the door I turned back around. "Do you have an extra sweatshirt I could borrow?" I asked.

"Thank you. I lo... I'll see you soon." I said quickly and left, shutting the door behind me, hoping he hadn't caught on to what I had started to say. My body still ached but I ran quickly down the stairs anyway. I was out of breath and felt weak by the time I had gotten to the bottom so I hailed a cab to take me home.

I went home and laid in bed thinking about what I had almost said. Did I mean it or did it just start to slip out. I fell asleep thinking about it and dreamt of Lucas. I woke up and sat up. I realized I did mean it.. and that terrified me. Finally, knowing I needed rest to feel better, I went to sleep.
