"I don't think so." I said. I glanced over at he table where his wife and three girls sat. "If it's true then he kept up with the L names. The youngest is Lucy, the middle girl is Lily and the oldest Lisa." I told him.

"My dad made personal furniture for him. They became close friends and now they sort of support each other." I told him. "Lucas.. I know you don't want to believe it but he's a good man." I said softly.

"Lucas.. That was a long time ago. You don't know him now. I've had dinner with him. I've stayed at his house. I've been on vacation with his family." I admitted. "He's a good person."

I huffed lightly. "I can't believe you're saying this. Didn't you see my mom? How scared she was? He shouldn't get away with that!" I said. I didn't want to make a scene and I felt my temper rising, so I quickly got up from the table and left the hall, going into the quiet hallway.

I sighed. I had dealt with guys that had a temper problem, but I didn't think he would be like that. I decided the best thing to do was to give him some time and space to cool off. Instead I got up and walked over to the Mayor's table. I sat down next to the oldest girl and asked her about college. That's when she told me she wanted to go into some sort of police work. I almost laughed at the irony.

I took a deep breath and ran cold water over my face. I forced myself to remember that Rowan was just trying to help- I shouldn't take this out on her. After another minute, I went back out and found her at the mayor's table. Biting my lip hard, I walked over there and stood over her chair, putting my hand on her shoulder.

Without being to noticeable I moved away from Lucas's grip on my shoulder. I still wanted to help but at that very moment I wasn't very happy with him. "You're back." I said. "Lucas this is Lisa. Lisa is in college for criminal justice and wants to do something with the police force." I told him. "Maybe even the FBI." Lisa chimed in. I bit my lip. "That would certainly be something." I commented.

I nodded. "Its nice to meet you." I said. She asked me where I worked, and I knew I couldn't tell the truth, especially when I work in secret missions. "I work at a gym in town as a personal trainer." I said. Technically, it was true.

I sighed quietly. I hated hearing him lie. "Do you know where you're dad went? I've been meaning to ask him a question." I asked her. "I think he's in one of the attached rooms getting ready before he speaks." She said. I go up. "Thanks Lisa. I'll see you around. I took Lucas's hand and lead him that way. when we were out of sight I stopped and turned to him. "I'm not entirely happy with you, and we're going to talk about it, but later. I still want you to know the truth. So were going to go talk to Mayor fisher but you have to promise me that you will be civil about this first?" I asked.
