I had looked for something for us to eat when she was showering, and had found a tub of ice cream in the back of the freezer. I took that along with 2 spoons to the couch. After turning on the fire place and grabbing a few blankets, I decided it was just cozy enough to make her comfortable. When she came town I patted the spot next to me. "I figured we could just watch some TV." I said. I took off my suit jacket and loosened my tie.

I bit my lip and sat down. I took a spoon and took a bite of ice cream. After a few minutes I spoke up. "How did you learn how to do that? To fight like that?" I asked. Then I shook my head. "No you don't have to answer that. It doesn't matter, just.. thank you.." I said.

I chuckled softly and put my arm around her. "No, its ok. I do some boxing here and there, plus I have older cousins. I had to learn how to defend myself." I said. Another lie. I had learned all that in training, but I guess I had forgotten about my cover when I saw that guy hurt Rowan. Gently I leaned over and kissed her nose, then turned on the TV.

I leaned into him, taking in his sent and automatically feeling safer. I felt as though I needed to tell him about Carter. "Carter, Mr. Holt.. is my ex. My dad always insisted we were good for each other but he never treated me well. But tonight he took it so much further." I said softly.

I tried to watch the TV for a while. Eventually, everything from the day caught up to me and exhaustion washed over me. Within a few minutes, I had dozed off, laying my head in his lap.

I gently stroked her hair and watched TV, just waiting until midnight. Finally, at around 11:30, I moved Rowan's head and got up. On the counter, I found her work ID and brought it to the basement. Thankfully, it let me in and I quietly snuck around all the large boxes and crates until I found the spot where they were going to meet. Now I had to wait. But my waiting was interrupted when someone came behind me and grabbed my arms. "We found someone!" He yelled. "Its the girl's boyfriend. Go get her- she must know something." I tried to defend myself, but felt a sharp jab in my shoulder. My whole body went slack. The next time I woke up I was sitting in a chair with my hands tied behind me and my mouth gagged.

I woke up to a banging at my door and noticed Finn was gone. I slowly opened the door but was grabbed and dragged down to the basement. "Let me go!" I screamed. They finally dropped me in the middle of the warehouse. When I stood up, I could see Finn tied to a chair. "Finn!" I shouted. "What's going on." I huffed to the man that had dragged me down here. "Untie him right now!"

The men laughed. "I know you're used to bossing people around, but you can't tell us what to do, girl." They said, tying her up. I had been in this situation before, so I wasn't too worried. I knew I could get out of this. All of a sudden I remember I had to act scared so I put a look of fear in my eyes.

"If only we could tell you sweetheart." He smirked and gagged her. "Johnson, stay here and watch them while I go do business with the boss." He said, leaving into a private room that looked like security. Johnson looked like the youngest, and sat on a crate with his phone in one hand and his gun loosely pointed at us in the other. I glanced at Rowan. I focused on squeezing my hands out of the bounds. I could do this- I've done it a hundred times before. After several minutes, one of my hands squeezed through and I grabbed the bounds and slid them on my seat so they wouldn't make a noise as they hit the ground. Then, as quickly and quietly as I could, I went up to Johnson, grabbed his gun, and hit him over the side of the head. He didn't even see it coming and passed out. I tied his hands and mouth. I turned back to Rowan and put my hands gently on her face. "Look, I promise to untie you if you just trust me and leave. Go back to your apartment and lock the door or go somewhere else."
