"That's what you said the last time I gave you a second chance." I sighed and took off my engagement ring and set it on the coffee table. "You can sleep out here tonight." I snapped and walked to the bedroom, slamming the door behind me, before collapsing into tears on the ground.

I bit my lip hard and stared at the door, not being able to stop the tears. I went to the fridge and had a beer before dozing off on the couch.

I fell asleep sitting against the door. I don't know why I didn't move, maybe I was waiting for him to come find me or maybe I was waiting for myself to go back out to him. Neither of those things happened though.

I woke up early that morning, aching from sleeping in an uncomfortable position all night. But a second later I realized why I woke up- Iris. I walked- more like limped- to her room and picked her up out of her crib. "Shhhh it's ok." I whispered, putting her on the changing table.

When I woke up to Iris's crying, I cringed at the position I had fallen asleep in but hurried to her room. I sighed when I saw Lucas already in there and started to turn around.

"Ro, wait." I whispered. "I don't want it to be like this. I can't live without you in my life. I know I shouldn't have lied to you and I'm sorry- I'll always be sorry for that. But if I lose you then that's already half of my heart gone-" I chocked up and bit my lip. "And then I'll lose Iris. We both know that I don't stand a chance against you." I was terrified that she would go to court for custody and there was no way I could win. I wiped the tears with my sleeve. "And with both of you gone, I will have lost everything. You guys are my only family. Please..." I begged. I didn't really know what else to say, but I had to fight for us.
