 Lucas Tomorrow was the day I left for DC, and I was dreading it. Usually, I was ok with leaving. The part of leaving my mom sucked, but I needed the money and liked the adventure. This time, I wish I could stay in New York with Rowan, and have an exciting job, and have enough money to get by. But I guess I couldn't have it all. Since I was quitting the lease on my apartment, I had spent the last couple of days packing everything into my bags. Thankfully, I didn't have a lot and I got done pretty quickly. Once I was done with all of that, I went to Rowan's house with some flowers in one hand and desserts in the other for dinner with her and her father. I knocked on the door and waited, trying to forget about the goodbyes soon to come. |

I got up from the dinner table to get the door. I took a deep breath and opened it. I smiled at Lucas trying not to think about the inevitable that was coming. "Hey. You're just in time." I said. I let him in and gave hime a light hug. "I'm glad you could make it." I said truthfully. |

"I wouldn't miss it. Thanks for inviting me." I said, following her to the table. I gave her dad a handshake. "Nice to see you again, sir." I said before sitting down.

I poured everyone a glass of wine before sitting down. I held up my glass and smiled softly at each of them. "I'm so thankful to have both of you here tonight. Happy thanksgiving." i said softly.

I smiled softly and clinked her glass. This was strange- having a thanksgiving dinner with a family. I had gone to the mayors the other day, and that was even stranger. "Do you have a favorite thanksgiving memory?" I asked.

I smiled and looked at my dad. "Dad was cleaning out the turkey and he got the turkey stuck on his hand. I think mom laughed for an hour before she was even able to help him get it off." I said.

"Thank you. I was up most of the night working on everything." I admitted. Really I just couldn't sleep so I stayed up distracting myself.
