After a few minutes, she still wouldn't stop crying. Finally, not able to stand it I got up, swearing underneath my breath. In just my boxers I carefully picked her up. Her diaper wasn't dirty, so she must want food. I carried her into the bedroom. "She's hungry," I said sitting down on the bed.

"Every time daddy and I try to have some us time we get interrupted." I said with a sigh. I finished feeding Iris then brought her back to her crib. I walked back to the bedroom and paused in the doorway. "Where were we?" I asked with a teasing grin.

I smiled and gave her another long kiss. Eventually we both dozed off, but I had to get up a couple times in the night. Thankfully, I didn't have to work in the morning so I could sleep in.

I woke up the next morning and smiled over at Lucas who was still sleeping. I notice that he still had his prosthetic leg on and felt bad that he had to keep it on to take care of Iris. I let him sleep as I carefully tried to remove the leg so he would be a little more comfortable while he slept for a few more hours.

I woke up the next morning, suprised at the time. I found my prosthetic leaning against the wall- Rowan must have put it there. I put it back on quickly and then walked into the living room to find them. "Good morning you two. Thanks for letting me sleep in." I said, giving them each a kiss.
