He called and half an hour later, someone from the hospital came. She handed us the pictures with a smile. "Here you go. He's a beautiful, healthy baby." She said. I looked up. "He?" I asked softly. "I'm so sorry. Did you not want to know?" She worried. "No... It's fine. It's great." I said, looking down at the picture with a smile.

The couple was separated now and it was just Mary. "Why did you do this?" I asked. "I didn't want to." She said, beginning to sob. "Jake made me. He told me if Ioved him I would do it for him." She said.

I bit my lip and sighed. I didn't know if I should believe her or not. "Did you drink? Is our baby really safe?" I asked. She shook her head. "No. And I took all of my vitamins." She said softly. I breathed a sigh of relief.

I smiled softly. "Look Mary we're going to do what we can while you're pregnant but I don't think theres much we can do once you have the baby. You're going to go to jail unless you give the police more. If you are telling the truth about Jake that he made you and you tell the police all that you know, you may be able to get a deal." I told her.

She hesitated and I took her hand. "If he really loved you, he wouldn't make you do this." I said softly. "Tell the truth, Mary. Maybe you could find a relationship based on love and respect someday. You deserve that."
