Rowan www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=182629893I ran around the large dining hall that we had rented out, helping to set up all the tables with tablecloths, plates, napkins, utensils and centerpieces. I had hand made bouquets of flowers that were red yellow and orange. Everything had to be perfect for the kids. I had also invited Lucas and told him that he could invite his best friend and his wife and baby. Once I was happy with the tables I went to check on the food. It had pained me to have to talk to my dad about making a donation, but he was oddly willing and it was kind of strange. "Hows the food coming?" I asked. "Turkey's almost done. One of the cooks called. "Kids will be here in about ten minutes." I told them. |

I walked in a bit early, wanting to help Rowan. Cole and his family were going to come later. "Hey." I gave her a light kiss. "Do you need any help?" I asked, rolling up my sleeves.

"Thank you." I said grabbing the water. Just as we finished, kids started to come in. Some came up to me while others found their friends and found tables together. One of the girls tugged on my dress and I knelt down next to her. "Your boyfriend is very handsome." She giggled. I smiled looking up at Lucas. "Yes he is. That was very kind of you to say. Now why don't you go find a seat at a table." I told her.

I finished helping set up and then went back to Rowan. "This looks great. All the kids seem so happy." I sat down.

I turned red but smiled softly. Just then, Becca and Cole came, holding Penny. I stood ud. "Rowan, this is Cole and Becca. Guys, this is Rowan." I said. Cole was short and stocky, basically the opposite of me. Becca was pretty, with dark skin and curly dark brown hair. "Thank you for inviting us. This is so cool." Becca said.

I smiled. "Thanks for coming. It's nice to meet some of Lucas's friends." I said. I waved at Penny." "Hi sweetie, how are you?" I asked her.

I smiled softly as she reached over to me and took her to bounce her on my lap. "So how's work going? Did you file the objection request?" Cole asked. I just shook my head lightly. I hadn't told Rowan about it yet, that they wanted me to transfer. "Oh... Well where do you work?" Cole asked Rowan quickly, changing the subject.

I smiled. "Excuse me for one minute." I said. I walked away and walked to the head of the room. I cleared my voice and spoke up. "Thank you all for coming. We have a lovely dinner in front of us, but before we dig in I just want us to all take a moment to think about what we are thankful for." I said. One of the girl raised her hand. "What is it Sally?" I asked. "I'm thankful for you Ms. Ro." She said. I smiled softly. "I'm thankful for you too, Sally. Now then enjoy the food, but please remember your manors." I said speaking more to the kids. When I was done I went back and sat next to Lucas. "Shall we eat?" I offered.
