I fell asleep for about a half hour then went yo check on Alice. "How are you holding up?" I asked stepping in. She was under the covers and I could here her sobbing. "Oh Alice.." I walked over and sat down next to her, rubbing her back.

I decided to make them a nice meal, so got some spaghetti and meatballs ready. I went upstairs to find them together while it was cooking. I frowned lightly. "Can I help at all?" I asked, sitting at the foot of the bed.

"Just give us a minute. We'll be right down." I told Sage. "Look Alice, I know this is a big change and I know you miss dad. I do too, but he would want us to be happy." I said.

I felt bad that I couldn't help and decided to just go downstairs to distract myself, getting the food ready.

"Let's just go downstairs and eat. Sage is really trying to help out." I said. She nodded slowly, wiping her tears. I helped her up and gave her a hug before going downstairs with her.

I smiled softly. "Hey. I made spaghetti." I said as they sat down. I wasn't sure what to say to her; I was scared to make her upset.
