I walked to the weights part of the gym, gravitating toward the leg machines. leg day was a beast, always. had to do it. I began working out.

I walked into the gym, my head held high in false confidence. I was exhausted from my flight but my nerves were so on edge I needed to burn off the nervous energy. My Asics tapped lightly against the mats as I approached the tread mill. A good long run. I preferred running outside but due to the foot of snow I was stuck to the indoors. The only other person was some jock who was using one of the leg machines and appearing as though he enjoyed it far too much. With a little laugh I stepped onto the treadmill and began picking my play list.

I nodded politely at a girl before changing machines. "hey." I said to her.

I saw the boys lips move but through the music that blasted in my ears. I yanked the earbuds out and Def Leopard spilled out. Quickly I turned them off. "Huh? Sorry," I said quickly.

I chuckled. "Sorry, didn't notice you had music. I just said hey."

I gave him a thumbs up, "Oh right no problem. Well hey," I said with a polite grin.

"I'm hunter." I said, deciding to be polite and introduce myself. friends were nice.

I was in some serious need from friends and considering I was typically better friends with guys than most girls I decided not to judge him by his jockish appearance. "Nice to meet you, I am Berkley... Or B," I added since all my old friends had called me that back in North Carolina.

"nice to meet you." I smiled and went to the squat rack. "you new too?" I asked, setting up the weights.

Keeping my mind open about my choice in friends I nodded with a grin, "Yup, just got here this morning actually. How long have you been here?"
