"Huh, okay," this conversation was going nowhere. Such chit chat, but I never knew on what to really talk about. I feel like I was going to have to start to start playing twenty questions, "So, why are you here? Any real reason or did you parents just pick this school out because of it's prestigiousness?"

I arched my eyebrow now at his words, "Canada, eh?," I asked, "You really are a far ways away from home." It made me wonder how often he got home sick since the people here were anything but nice in my own honest opinion. After all, Canada was a far drive and booking planes were expensive.

Well, that made me feel selfish in a way. Here I was always complaining about how much I hated it here and wanted to go home whereas Mason here was from a completely different country, and yet not once did he seem to have a bad thing to say, even with being homesick on occasion, "Wish I could enjoy life like you," I stated absentmindly now as I glanced back out the window.

"Compared to the past?" Well, that was certainly a curious thing to say. I wonder what he meant by it. I allowed my thoughts to go on for a moment before glancing back at Mason now before commenting, "I quite prefer home much more than this place."

I nodded. "I definitely do love my home, but its always nice to escape the past for a while. Start over a little, I guess you could say. I spoke softly, remembering everything, a ever so slight happy-sad smile slipping on my face as my life played in pictures in my mind.

I sat there and listened to his words, analyzing them. He was soft spoken about them, and there was almost a sad tone in his voice. Even as he defended that he liked his home, there was something about that seemed off...or perhaps he wished to forget. I stared at him for a moment before finally commenting, "Mason, I think you and I come from two completely different backgrounds."

She was almost spot in. I didn't want to forget my past, as much as simply erase it. But as long as it was there, I needed to remember it. "Yeah," I agreed softly, pausing for a moment. "You must really not like it here than," I responded with a slight smile.

"Well, why should I?" I asked, eyeing him now "After all, I'm away from my family and friends, you know, people who actually understand me. I'm stuck with all of these girls who make fun of me and my horse, plus, the stable hands don't even take proper care of Duke. It's not the fairy tale that it was painted out to be."
