I shot endless baskets on the hot summer afternoon. I wore black spandex and a white tank top with highlighter pink sneakers. My hair was in a high ponytail and I was so sweaty. I missed a shot. Try harder I told myself. I tried to make up for every missed shot with two good ones.

I walked to the basketball court and saw a girl. "Mind if I join?" I asked. I wasn't really implying that I wanted to play with her, just like, use the same area. Or whatever. I was exhausted today.
