"She is. I hope she hasn't been getting distracted," he said firmly directing his gaze to me.
I looked down. I had kind of been.
"Yeah.." he said with a nod.
I looked up weakly. "Im sorry, Collin. I just...I don't know..." I looked down again. I was nervous now. Why was Collin being so hard on him?

I gently squeezed Carlin's hand. "She works hard." I stated politely but firmly. "We rode together the other day, and her and Flint are an amazing pair." I was pointing out the facts but stayed calm and talked easily.

Collin looked to him and nodded. "She does. I just don't want her getting distracted by anything or anyone," he said firmly.
"Collin..." i wanted him to stop.
He looked at me. "Yeah?"
I took a deep breath. "Why do you have to do this?" i whispered.
He looked shocked. "Carlin..Im just protecting my little sister. I don't want you to get hur-"
"I am not going to get hurt!" I almost yelled. I was shocked by my own bravery.
I think Collin was too. He stood looking at us.
A tear rolled down my cheek. I turned to Ethan and burried my face in his chest.
He was probably mad now and he'd tell my parents and Id have to leave.

I hugged Carlin tightly and loked up at her brother. He was starting to bother me but I wouldnt show it. "Carlin is a great girl.." I changed my mind on wording. "An amazing girl, and I would never hurt her." I said firmly but still calm. "As for being distracted, she may have lost her focus a little but not for long and I can help her with riding and she can help me too." I said easily. "But she need a little room to live."

Collin
I watched Carlin's reaction totally shocked. She had never stuck up for herself like this, and for some reason, it made me think she was maturing. When she moved to him and hugged him, his response to her reaction was good. He choose his words wisely and I was glad. Carlin seemed to have picked a good guy. I nodded once. "I can see you two are a great couple." I wondered how long they'd been dating.

I let out a breath and kissed the top of Carlin's head at his responce. "Thank you." I said politely but my accent came out really thick for some reason. I guess when I truelly mean something I cant hide my accent.

I whipped the tears from my eyes looking at Collin, but still laying the side of my face on Ethan's chest. I stifled. Collin suddenly changed his mind like that. He never did that. I wondered why. He just nodded at Ethan. "We should grab lunch sometime," he said.

I nodded. "That would be nice." I said and looked to Carlin "Don't cry any more." I whispered, hoping Collin didnt hear, and I wiped a last tear gently from her face.

I sniffled again as Ethan agreed. I took a breath and sucked up my tears and sniffles. Tingles seemed to go through my body when he wiped a tear from my eye. I hugged her tighter.

"I have the camera if you want to go now. She wants it as soon as we can send it."
I nodded, sniffling once more. I looked at Ethan. "You want to come?" I asked him quietly.
I heard a small sighfrom Collin. I knew he probably didn't want him to come, but I really wanted him to come.
"Please," I mouthed, so Collin couldnt see.
