I walked into class late, wearing my worn leather jacket, wrinkled white tee, and jeans. My hair was messy; I just woke up. The teacher shot me a glare. "Mr. King, you're 15 minuets late. If you expect to go to Canterwood, you must be on time." she said. I looked at her innocently and responded, "I'm sorry. I got lost again." I don't think she bought it.
"We just got partners for a lab project. You're with Ms. Derran." she pointed at a pretty blonde, then walked over to help a group. I walked over, threw my backpack on the table, and sat down. "Ok what are we doing." I asked.

He walked over to me and asked what we were doing. "Um, Im not really sure" I shrugged. "Whatever this work packet tells us I guess" I added.

I laughed. "She never gets my name right." I smirked looking pointedly towards the teacher. "Jessica Drennan" I said. "But you can call me Jess" i shrugged. He was cute. "So Im assuming you're new since you were 'lost'" I said making air quotes.

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah that." I said. "And since 7th grade." I said. "What is the typical cell division resulting in 2 daughter cells, each as the same as the parent nucleus?" I read the 2nd question aloud. This class was actually really easy because she just taught the same stuff over and over again. I wrote down mitosis.

I shrugged. "Just stating the facts." I wrote down another answer. "Like the fact this was the easiest paper ever." I said, sliding it to the end of the desk. I boredly added some powder stuff to a chemical on our lab table.

I nodded. "This class is really easy, not that I'm complaining" i stated. I grabbed us some goggles from the cabinet like everybody else was doing. "Here" I said handing them to him and putting mine on.
