"but I would have to tell my dad and get physica therapy and-" I just sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. "I think im going to let it be for a while. Maybe they were wrong and it will go away." the waiter came, and I ordered us a cheese pizza to share.

I shook my head. "You haven't moved it this whole time. If it hurts that bad, its not something that will just go away." I sighed knowing I was being slightly hypocritical. "I know its hard to make sacrifices but its no fun to be in pain. Big surgeries are necessary sometimes. They've saved my career." I said softly.

"if you think their so right, then maybe you should listen to them." I snapped. It was quiet for a second. "Sorry. I'm just stressed about the whole thing. I dont want to get surgery." I said quietly.

I didn't snap back just stayed silent while he talked. "They're scary. I know." I pulled up my sleeve to show off a scar along my elbow. "Surgeries are never fun, always scary, and sometimes career risking. But we're supposed to take risks, which is how we get the injuries. Then we have to risk it all to fix it just so we can risk losing it once its better." I said slowly, gently. I looked at the scar on my elbow, thought about the one hidden behind my hair on the back of my neck, and pushed my sleeve back down to hide the scar again.

"Will you come with me? When I get it done?" I asked. I thought about it. "Well I guess you don't have to. I'll be asleep most of the time, plus my dad will proabably be there. That would be awkward."

"Um.." I thought for a minute. "About a year and a half ago on my elbow and... I think its been almost three years since the surgery on my neck." I told him.

"I wouldn't consider it brave really. more so just wanting to continue what I'm doing." I shrugged. "Plus brave or not, when you brake your neck and need surgery... you get the surgery." These were actually some of the scariest times in life for me, to be honest, but I tried to play it off like it wasn't that big of a deal.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh stop being so modest." I teased. "If you can do it, I guess I can do it too. The nurse said I can get it as early as next week, if I want."

I nodded. "I would give it the week, really baby it. I know it's practically impossible but do the best you can. Then if its no better talk to the nurse about surgery."
