Ashley
I tacked up Sassy, grabbed my crop, and clipped on my spurs. She was in a good mood today and I wanted to canter her up and over hills on the trails to strengthen her muscles. I lead her to the outside of the stables and mounted up.

I lead a tacked Petri out of his stall, getting to the mounting block. "Hey Ashley." I said, clipping my helmet on over my hairnet. Forget ponytails. I then got on

"Okay. But just a warning, we train hard. So if you think Petri is getting worn out, just tell me" I kicked Sassy into a trot.

I nodded. "Kay." I trotted after her, making sure that even though no one was watching, I was still riding well.

I nodded and squeezed Sassy into a canter. She buck (of course) and I pulled to to an abrupt stop. "Sorry, she'll cut that out soon." I gave her a smack on the shoulder with the crop and she trotted forward. I gave her a small squeeze and she settled into a nice canter.

Sassy did well for a little while. She needed to be reminded I had spurs on every once and a while, however. Then she began spooking and acting like a two year old who had never been in the woods before, rather than a seasoned 7 year old. I took her off the side to the small clearing and cantered her in tiny circles before she gave up and walked. I made her back up 5 stride before giving her a smack with the crop. I yelled to Bella, who had gone ahead "This is really embrassing. She never acts like this. I'm really sorry. Maybe you should go aheadof us so if I need to pull her up, you can keep going and we'll catch up."

"Okay. Let's race at the next clearing. "I gave Sassy a smack with the crop when she started to slow again. She was a really smart horse. She would play tired until she got to rest. She was born at my stable, out of my mare, Last Waltz, and then was sold due to her awkward gaits as a foal. However she was sent back because the owner couldn't deal with her personality. We whipped her into shape, showed her who was boss, and now she is better. But once and a while she'll be an awful horse to ride. She stopped abruptlly by herself and I spurred her hard. She spooked and jumped forward. I gave her a smack with the crop hard behind her girth and she settled "No funny business" I told her. I saw the clearing approaching "Ready?" i asked Bella

OOC: Yup!  Ashley "Ready... Set... Go!" I spurred Sassy and she shot off like a rocket. She didn't like to loose. I kept the crop on her shoulder, reminding her that it was a race |

I let Petri shoot after them. Soon we were shoulder to shoulder. We crossed the finish line in an TIE!

I slowed Sassy to a walk, laughing "Good job! I don't like to admit it, but that was a tie."
