Brooke
My driver came and picked my up from CCA in my limo, with my truck and trailer behind. We were headed to the auctions to get a companion horse for Moment and a project horse for me (possibly). I wanted to rescue a horse and they were cheap here so that's a bonus, too. It could be a foal, a senior, or any horse. We drove for an hour and a half before arriving at a large warehouse-like building. I hopped out and texted my trainer who was coming to help me and she arrived five minutes later. We talked for a few minutes and then headed in. It was an hour before the auction so I could see the horses ahead of time. When I walked in the door, I was shocked at the conditions of the horses. Most we skinny, had cuts, were missing eyes, and looked barely alive. Most wouldn't find a home... But one would. And I needed to choose. I walked down the first row, and saw even more poor horses looking at me with hopeful eyes. Then one caught my eye. She didn't walk over to the side of the pen, like the other horses when they saw me walk by. She looked to be pregnant, unfortunately. She wasn't in awful shape, or at least with her belly, she didn't appear to be. I walked over to her. She picked up her head a little, but showed no emotion "She's the one." I said to my trainer. I walked around a little more, lining up my second, third, and fourth choice horses. When we sat down for the bidding, I knew I would win her. Because no matter how high someone will bid, I will bid more. Fortunatly we won and I went to go see MY horse. She stood in the lucky horses' pen and didn't make a sound as I slipped on a new leather halter and lead and led her towards the trailer. She stepped onto it simply and made no reaction. "Ready to go"
