She made me smile and I grabbed the keys and followed her out to the car.

We got in the car and headed to the clinic. Since it was pretty early, we got in right away. Mary was already sitting on the bed. I gave her a smile. "Hey. How are you feeling?" I asked. "Great. The morning sickness definetly wasn't as bad today. And I got a pretty good night's sleep." She responded.

I looked at Mason with a soft smile and took his hand. The doctor came in and said hello with a smile, then got the equipment. A few moments later, an image popped up on the screen. I looked at it for a moment. "It doesn't really look like a baby." I chuckled softly and looked at Mason.

"Would you like to hear the heartbeat?" The doctor asked. I nodded and a moment later, there were soft thuds. I just closed my eyes and listened for a minute. "I still can't believe this worked." I said softly.

I bit my lip and tried not to cry- I was just so happy that he was happy. "Is there another baby?" I asked. The doctor searched and then shook his head. "Nope. Just one." He said. Relief filled me- I was worried about one baby- imagine if it was two. We were done, so Mary wiped the gel off her stomach and stood up.
