Lucas Today I was taking Rowan out, and I was actually nervous. I think because I had to impress her by just being me; I couldn't make up impressive facts so she would like me. I got out of work early so I could go home, shower, and change. I decided to wear khakis, a flannel shirt, and a maroon sweater over that. I even decided to shave; I hadn't been clean shaven in who knows when. Last date I had gotten Rowan a bouquet of flowers, but this time I just got a single rose. After arriving at her door, I took a deep breath and knocked.

Rowan www.polyvore.com/sweet_flirty/set?id=181321067I had layered a warm sweater over a tight skirt, just long enough to cover my tattoo and then curled my hair in soft waves. I had just finished touching up my makeup when there was a knock on the door. I walked over and opened it, still a bit nervous about giving Lucas a second chance. "Hi." I said softly. "You look nice." I told him.

Lucas "I thought I'd bring you to one of my favorite restaurants when I was younger." I said. I hailed a cab for us and held the door open for her.

Rowan "It's funny. It's like now you magically know all of the restaurants but you've known them all along." I said.

Lucas I chuckled. "Yeah... sometimes I feel like I know every corner of this city. I've lived here a long time." I said. I asked the cab driver to bring us to a street on the corner of Manhattan and the Bronx. Once we got there I paid the driver and we went inside a tiny cafe-like restaurant together. Two of the walls were covered from floor to ceiling with books. They were everywhere. We were seated at cozy booth in the corner. "I loved this place when I was little. My mom used to work here and I would just sit in the chair in the corner and read. If I was good, she would bring me a soda." I smiled softly.

Lucas I chuckled softly. "Yes, the motorcycle's actually mine. And you can ride it whenever- as long as you're careful." I teased.

Rowan "Always." I said, but I had gotten a little distracted looking at all the book titles.

Lucas I smiled softly and watched her looking at all the books. FInally an middle ages lady came to take our orders. She beamed when she saw me. "If it isn't Luke. I haven't seen you in forever! Who's this?" She asked. I smiled. "Marnie, this is Rowan. Rowan, this is Marnie. She's a friend of my mom's." I introduced them. She smiled. "Nice to meet you, sweetie. Luke, do you want your regular?" I smiled. "I'm impressed you remember. But I guess you know me too well" I said.

Lucas I nodded. "It's weird how we both lived here our whole lives but never crossed paths." I said. Just then, Marnie came with our food. "Here you go. Grilled cheese and tomato soup just how you like it. I even cut off the crust." She laughed as I turned red and went back to the kitchen.
