"I'm sorry... I've just never met anyone's parent before and I'm not sure what I'm doing." I admitted, rambling like an idiot.Thankfully, Alice came down before anyone could respond. "Hi! This looks yummy." She took a bite of Connor's breakfast and smiled. "What are we going to do today?" She asked. I shrugged. "I'll do whatever, but I have some work I need to finish." I said.

"Sounds like a plan. Sorry I can't go with." I said, feeling bad. We finished our breakfast and put our plates away then I watched them leave. Finally I sat down on the couch and pulled my laptop out of my bag. Being with his dad alone made me nervous, but I silently did my work.

"Alice knows. She understands. It's a very slow moving cancer and when I go I'm hoping she can move in with Connor, but until I get really bad, I don't want Connor to know. He'll want me to get all kinds of treatments that I just can't handle." I said with a sigh. "That's his downfall. He's just to loving."
