I nodded, a little relieved to know I was not the lone new girl. I'd dealt with that when I left North Carolina for Wyoming. "Oh okay cool. I'm a junior. Are you from the area?" I asked politely as I sipped my latte.

"Oh wow! I loved showing in New Mexico a few summers back," I paused and debated how to reply. "Well, I grew up in North Carolina except for the last year I've lived in Wyoming," I replied. The whole situation was one big web of complications... when looking back it was all rather ridiculous.
