I looked around nervously. I hate crowds. And in the little cafe, it was crowded. I ordered a vanilla frap. I stepped to the side while I waited for the barista to make my order. And when it was done I thanked him and walked over to random tables looking for an empty seat. Only one. In a booth. With a guy. I bit my lip before walking over. "Do you mind if I sit?" I asked quietly. |

I took a sip of my iced coffee and looked up when I heard a voice. "No go ahead." I said simply.

I smiled and signed 'Thank You' lifting my hand to my chin and bringing it down. "Thanks." I translated. before sitting.

I watched her sign a thank you and thought about my sister. "You know sign language?" I asked, but showed little emotion.

"Ive been learning since I was seven." I said in a bored voice. It wasnt that I didnt care, I just wasnt one to show much emototion.

I smiled slightly but wasnt about to let down my gaurd. I signed back the sign for my name. I paused for a second. I wasnt sure she would know the sign for I said it. "Im Kole."

I did the same before looking back up, when he looked at me I signed 'Why did you learn sign language?'

I thought for a second if I should tell this girl I just met about my sister. finally I answered. i signed back, 'My sister.' I didnt bother going into even a little detail.

I nodded. His sister must be in High school and taught him, or maybe it was anoither reason, but he didn't look like he wanted to talk about it. So I signed. 'You have siblings? Is it your Big sister, or little sister?'

I signed back. 'Little sister.' I paused for a second wondering if I should tell her. She seemed nice enough, I signed, 'she was born deaf.'
