I hugged her back. "Everyday, coming home just waiting for the abuse. Hoping you could be his slave instead. The starvation, having to sneak out in the night just to get a decient peice of food. Lying to friends at lunch that you're not hungry so u didnt bring lunch, when in reality Slate just wouldn't give you lunch money or food."
