I smiled at him smiling at Romeo. Horses did that to people. Just then Romeo snorted. I laughed as it hit Carson. "Bless you Romeo." I said, still laughing.

I scowled and wiped my face with my sleeve. "I changed my mind. I hate horses." I half joked.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh don't be a girl." I half joked back and lead Romeo towards the ring.

I followed her as we walked into a huge open ring. I leaned against one of the walls. "Ok. Show me what you've got."

I nodded. "It might not look like much while I warm up." I laughed as I gave Romeo a light tap. He flicked his tail but then went into a trot. Within a few minutes he was moving foreword in a long flowy stride. I changed direction and did circles as Romeo became increasingly more supple and bent better and better.

I just leaned back and watched, waiting for the good stuff. I watched the horse for a while, then shifted my eyes up to Harley.

I closed my hand slightly around the rains, sat deeper in the saddle and squeezed slightly with my legs. In less then two strides Romeo was still and square. I pat his neck and smiled at how well he listened to my subtle cues.

"I asked him to halt and he did. Now we pick up the canter from a stand still."I sat deep in the saddle and squeezed my outside leg to Romeo's side and he moved foreword in a steady canter.

I laughed. "It doesn't seem so simple anymore now does it?" I asked smiling as I changed directions across the diagonal. I pushed my new outside heel down and into Romeo's side and he did a graceful flying lead change.

"Ehh. It's ok." I shrugged, just playing hard to get. Well, it didn't look hard, but I'm guessing its one of those sports where players want to make it look easy to the audience.

"This is what would happen if I did nothing at all." I said. I took my leg off and gave Romeo a loose rain. A few strides later he broke into a sprawled out quick trot and then into a lazy walk. He dragged his feet and then stopped in front of Carson. He liked people.
