I walked into the indoor arena with Dixie. I looked at her and saw the clouds in her eyes. Cataracts. I was nervous to preform, but had put trust in Dixie. "Hello Mr Conner."

I nodded and followed him. When we arrived at the course I recovered and mounted Dixie. I patted her neck softly, wondering if this was a good idea..

Expressionless, I trotted Dixie into the woods and started on the course. First was only a simple log jump, and I thought she could clear it with ease. But a rabbit ran across the course just then, and Dixie didn't know what it was. She spooked, and reared. I held on tightly and tried to calm her

"Collect her," I called, seeing her horse rear. "Circle her and bring her back and start again." I instructed.

I let Dixie rear again instead of listening to Mr Conner. She stopped then, and I used some Western moves on her. She was more comfortable that way, and then she calmed. I dismounted and walked over to Mr Conner. "I'm sorry but I don't think I'm ready to test." I said sadly. "I can't put her in that kind of danger."

I nodded. "Would you mind if I switched to my other horse, Luke?" I asked him. I had ridden luke ever since I was younger, so I knew his stregths and weaknesses

I nodded and walked Dixie back to the stables. I got her untacked and groomed her well. Then Mike offered to put her in her stall and get Luke for me. I gratefully accepted it and he did so. When he came with Luke I got him groomed so his coat shined. Then I put on his tack and led him back out to Mr Conner
